A journalist at the Daily Telegraph once wrote that the food at YAS tastes like it came straight from the Bible – and no wonder, as some of these dishes date from recipes over 2500 years old.

Charcoal Grills

Charcoal Grills

Our fine cuts of lamb are marinated for around 5 hours and charcoal grilled – this is a recipe that has ensured our place as London’s longest standing and most popular Persian restaurant since we opened our doors in 1974.

Persian grills are usually served with rice, and ‘Chelow’ is a traditional way of cooking it – a combination of boiling and then steaming the rice so that it becomes exceptionally light and fluffy. Persian rice is valued for its aroma, which is why here at YAS it is flavoured with Saffron – a herb more expensive than gold.

In Persia, Shisha cafes are places where people gather to smoke, drink tea and socialise.
If you’ve not tried Shisha before then it is something that you really must experience.

At Yas we only use the finest mix which is very light and full of flavor, with a wonderful fruity aroma.
